Antique enamel and paste necklace
A rare and beautiful late Victorian/Edwardian blue enamelled bar brooch set with tiny paste stones along the central part has been converted to a necklace with the addition of a vintage rolled gold chain. The detail in this little antique is delightful: the way the royal blue enamel is bounded by a thin line of metal, the recessed delicate geometric grill which sits in the middle of elongated oval and, finally, the rows of tiny pave-set pastes which elevate the piece with understated sparkle. It really is a beautiful little piece of history.
The bar brooch centre measures just under 6cm long and 0.8 cm at its widest part. The necklace length is 44cm.
