HANNAH

Hannah chose our Petworth Pearl Acorn headband in antique silver and ivory to complete her bridal look for her and husband Charlie's lovely Hygge-inspired winter wedding. Their wedding was featured on Rock My Wedding earlier this year and it was wonderful to read that stumbling across the headband was Hannah's first "‘I need this’ moment" in her wedding planning! In her words, "The huge pearls, acorn cups and oak leaves were like something from a dream." It's so lovely to hear little details like this from our brides.

Meeting fascinating clients and hearing a little about their lives at one of the most momentous times in their lives has to be one of the most special elements of my work. Sometimes really genuine feelings of connection emerge - and this was definitely the case with Hannah: perhaps because she lives in the same area; possibly because of her family connection to South Wales (where my husband's family are from); almost undoubtedly because she was studying for a PhD in an arts subject - something that I myself have been through. All these co-incidences played a part, as did Hannah's gentle spirit and her undoubted appreciation for handcrafted design and her

Hannah sent over these lovely images of the wedding taken by their photographer Katy & Co. a couple of months after the wedding, along with an interesting inquiry about having her Petworth Pearl Acorn tiara reworked into more wearable jewellery. We have done this before with pieces from our vintage collection, and the principle was the same for this design. Hannah chose to have her headpiece remodelled into a cuff bracelet and a simple oak leaf and acorn cup pendant as a birthday gift from her mother. There were enough elements from her original design to make a small Petworth Pearl Acorn hair comb - which was a lovely link back to the original headpiece and a little extra surprise for Hannah! Here are some pictures of the reworked jewellery including one from Hannah's own instagram account - @vanishintothewoods - which is a cosy and comforting exploration of hygge-full things.

Many congratulations Hannah and Charlie. Hope you are enjoying a wonderful winter as you approach your first wedding anniversary!
